LazyPay revealed that it is partnering with Flipkart and Airtel. With the novel development, customers buying through Flipkart can avail EMI choice when they are checking out. Same will be the case for Airtel users as they will now get “buy now pay later” facility while paying their landline and mobile bills. Since its introduction in April 2017, LazyPay is said to have witnessed about 35% month-on-month expansion. The deferred payment platform by PayU, a fintech mammoth, is also presenting the rising “buy now pay later” model on various apps including Ixigo, Swiggy, and BookMyShow.
The latest collaboration with Flipkart and Airtel is focused at the expansion of the LazyPay “buy now pay later” model in India. Flipkart customers will be able to control the LazyPay integration to get another EMI option for their orders. Remarkably, Flipkart already offers “Pay Later” facility, which was rolled out earlier this year for restricted purchases.
On a similar note, Bharti Airtel recently announced that it is collaborating with Google. This partnership is aimed at simplifying its customer service experience with the incorporation of the AI-powered Google Assistant, which is driven by voice commands. This move by the firm will assist to minimize prices as well. Airtel, India’s 2nd-biggest telco, and Reliance Jio Infocomm are currently increasingly employing AI technology to present better and more cost-effective customer experience and raise stickiness on their networks as they struggle for subscribers.
Sarang Kanade, Director, Customer Experience & Retail, Bharti Airtel, proclaimed that, with smartphones fast becoming the standard for all Indians, this move will make digital self-care much more connected. He added that it will improve the customer experience as well. The firm, facing harsh revenue and margin pressures amid rivalry, proclaimed its plans to introduce the novel service in local languages to its approximately 350 Million subscribers and push them to get online.
