Flu Cases Are Rising Across The United States, Says CDC

The flu activity has been increasing over the time in US, says the Center of Disease Control & prevention on Friday. At the end of this week ending on December 22, the nine states have been experiencing increased flu activity—Colorado, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Maryland, Kentucky, South Carolina, New Mexico & New Jersey- and New York too. This was a rise from previous week, after two states Georgia and Colorado have experienced an increased flu activity, while the other seven states along with Puerto Rico have been experiencing a moderate activity. Among four states with southern border of United States, the flu activity raised to a new high in parts of New Mexico & moderate in areas of Arizona, notes CDC.

Geographically, there are widespread flu cases reported across 11 states such as Arizona, California, Delaware, Connecticut, Georgia, Florida, Nebraska, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Guam and New Mexico. The viruses of Influenza A have been on the rise in US since the start of October, says CDC, while viruses of Influenza B are circulating. Also, four deaths due to flu have been reported by CDC before December 22. Till now, total 11 deaths of children due to flu have been reported in the year 2018 to 2019. The season of 2017 to 2018 was the deadliest season since many decades with about 80,000 deaths, including near about 185 pediatric patient deaths.

The patients having flu experience fever, coughing, chills runny nose, body pains, sore throat, sneezing, fatigue and headache, according to CDC. Some of the kids may also experience diarrhea and vomiting. Most of the people suffer from illness and get recovered in a very short time after having rest. The people with high risk of developing complications due to flu are required to get treated by antiviral medications.
